Seine konstruktion ist jedoch einfacher - um den preis, dass beim triball das kugelrad als passivrolle bei zug an der gabel blockiert (rollen in längsrichtung “rückwärts”). Damit beschränkt sich sein einsatzbereich auf mobile objekte, die sich tridirektional auf der fahrebene bewegen. Motorgetriebene triballs verhalten sich wie omniballs.

You are looking for a spherical wheel used as passive roll, which should be able to move in three directions only? Then your choice must be  triball. Its structure is more simple than this one of omniball. The disadvantage not rolling backwards might be in certain cases just the function you need. If all wheels of your moving object rotate by motor there will be not any disadvantage compaired with omniball.
